The Story Of Love Gone Wrong

AKA, I don't want to leave my big house, AKA, My realtor is a douche!

Okay, so we bought the new house.  We had to waive conditions this weekend as they got another offer but now it's all ours!

So last night we went to take our contractors through the new house to get an estimate on the work that needs to be done.  And here is where I blend reality with what I assume - enjoy the story:

One day there were two people in love.  They had two grown boys together and they were rich.  They decided to build a huge home, on a 1/4 acre lot, on a dead end cul-de-sac, close to a wonderful school that was right beside a beautiful canal.  And because they were so rich they could.  And they wanted everyone else to know how rich they were so they built a fancy, stucco, monstrosity with a massive garage.  And because they wanted everyone else to know how rich they were they landscaped it beautifully.  With stone and retaining walls and ponds and two expensive decks with a  pergola, etc.

Thing is?  They weren't really that rich.  She worked at a concrete company and he worked at a farm supply store.  So they saved money on the inside of their home.  They designed a sitting room in the front of the house and the smallest little kitchen you could ever imagine.  They clearly did not cook.

They also really liked oak and so they made sure the trim and the baseboards were oak.  But they maybe they liked maple because they made sure their tiny kitchen cabinets were in two toned maple.  And they used hardwood but the hardwood was purple and the dining room was covered with beige carpet.

And they were running out of money so they used fake marble counter tops in the bathrooms and they used spray on granite in the kitchen and they bought the cheapest appliances possible, and they bought the cheapest carpet ever.  And they must of missed the ocean when it's all dark and stormy so they painted the downstairs bedroom the same color.  And they must of missed the 80's because they sponge painted the walls teal and white in the bedroom upstairs.

And then they decided to divorce and sell their home.  So they did.  But when the new people came to bring their contractors they decided not to leave because they were too "ill".  So then they came downstairs and told us how it was a sensitive situation and they did not want to sell their home and we needed to be out of the home quick (even though the Realtors booked at time of one hour).  So the new people hustled their little hineys off with three contractors trying to get a quote.  Then the lady of the home cried, and then she yelled at her future ex-husband in their bedroom so everyone could hear.  Then she told everyone how they were getting divorced and she had no where to go and could we just get out of her home.

Then the realtor for the not rich, mentally ill, divorcing sellers called the new owners realtor and told them they were not supposed to have had a "party" in the home that night and it would be a cold day in hell before they ever got in that house again before possession.

And that is the story of my new home!

Showings

My house is so clean and fixed and organized that I might just want to stay here - just kidding!!  But it's it sad that the only time your house looks great is when others are coming over or when you are selling your home.  I told M that in the next house we have to take a weekend a year to work on the house so it always looks good.  You guys can hold me to it!

So hopefully it sells soon.  We have three showings booked for this weekend already and it's not even on MLS yet!  One of the showings is for today at 11;30 even though the lino guy will be working in the bathrooms and Chicken and I will be here - they still wanted to come.  Hopefully the interest is good news for us.  Home prices have gone up 5% since January and things are moving fast so fingers crossed!

Big News

Well my house is officially for sale.  This is because the other day M was like "hey you wanna buy a house" and I was all "yeah sure" and so we just did!

And now we have to sell our house because the house we bought is conditional on the sale of our house.  So if you are looking for a great starter home then this is the house for you.  And for you?  Real cheap!!

Fingers crossed for a quick sale!

Welcome Back!

I love my DSLR but I also love my handheld.  Everyone should have a good point and shoot and mine is sort of like my first love.  In November the battery refused to charge.  It was a sad day.  Then I forgot all about it until every time I wanted to video Chicken.  A week ago I finally took action (I've been busy) and ordered a new battery from China.    So in honor of such a wonderful thing here are some new videos:

Okay actually there will be no videos as I can't figure out how to upload them now.  As soon as someone tells me where the link is I can do it though - help me out!

Saves a lot Sunday!

Sorry kids, there is no Saves a lot Sunday! today.  I was too busy having massive amounts of fun at the Zoo with Chicken and my bestie and her kids.  Because nothing says fun like a over crowded zoo and three kids under the age of 5!  We had to go because M kindly asked me to be out of the house today to avoid excessive tile dust and swearing.  M tiled the back splash today (you know from the tiles we bought two years ago when we tiled our main floor) because one day we are going to list this house.  Because one day we are going to buy a new house.
Right!
Right?
